ALZET® Osmotic Pump References: Extended Duration Studies Using Sequentially Implanted Pumps

ALZET Osmotic Pumps range in duration from 24 hours to 6 weeks. Laboratory animals can be dosed for periods exceeding the duration of a single pump by serial implantation of freshly-filled pumps. This collection of references includes citations in which the pumps have been replaced to extend the delivery duration of the pump. The ALZET Bibliography contains records of studies having accomplished infusions of as long as 18 months, and in which up to 52 serial implantations have been performed on a single animal.

The short abstract following each reference details the substance(s) infused, the route of administration, the animal model used, the solvent(s) used, the model of pump, duration of infusion, and whether stress to the animal was noted. This list does not contain references before 2002.
